Deirdri P. Gladwin

Education & Qualifications:

District resident 24 years; Married, mother of two Ü a 1997 graduate, an
incoming freshman in district schools; PTA President, elementary and high
schools; Chair, PTA Presidents Council, San Mateo County; 3 year member High
School Site Council; member school committee, elementary, intermediate and high
schools; regularly attend SMUHSD School Board meetings; dedicated to quality
education for all students.

I have regularly attended school board meetings at both the elementary and high
school levels, and have a clear knowledge of what is involved in fulfilling the
job as a member of a school board. School Boards face many difficult decisions
with far reaching implications for the future success of our children and
society. I would like to be a part of that process and to bring a fresh
perspective of a parent with children still currently enrolled in the system. I
have been extremely pleased with the education my children are receiving, and
want to be a part of making sure that the quality continues and changes to meet
the needs of our children for many years to come.
