Robert H. Griffin	Age: 48
Occupation: Certified Public Accountant

Education & Qualifications:

As the appointed incumbent I have demonstrated a commitment to strong, safe
schools and communities. I support the best of what the district has
accomplished, but believe its programs can respond better to the needs of the
modern workplace. As proprietor of an accounting firm I have become acutely
aware of the need for high academic standards and a well-educated labor force.

During my two years on the board I have overseen and approved the budget plan,
eliminating the serious deficit and making the district fiscally sound. This
required me to face difficult decisions regarding budget control and staffing
expenditures. Test scores have improved; the district has one of the most
stringent discipline policies in the County. I believe in professional
accountability at all levels of district operations.

I earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of San Francisco and a CPA
certificate in 1981. I completed the California Schools Boards Association's
Master of Boardmanship Program with training in school finance, curriculum and
administration.

I have served on the Board of Directors of the Peninsula Family YMCA and the
San Mateo-Foster City Education Foundation. I am a member of the San Mateo
Rotary Club.
