During my tenure in office I have:

  • Upheld the public's right (your right) to address the Board and continuously asked for your input.

  • Involved parents as valued decision makers for their children.

  • Fostered students' leadership and participation in school decisions and advocated on their behalf at every level.

  • Preserved programs and monitored spending to benefit Jefferson School District students and staff.

  • Revised school policies (as pledged) to keep current with law changes.

  • Renovated all the schools' playground equipment as promised to ensure students' safety.

  • Fought to preserve the land in which we built our new Susan B. Anthony School (opened in 1998), a site that was needed to ease overcrowding on the east side of Daly City.

  • Implemented the Conflict Management curriculum at all schools, training students to be conflict managers and peer counselors, to communicate their disagreements with words while working out solutions to their problems.
