200 Word Candidate StatementBy Dennis Ricardo ColemanCandidate for Council Member; City of Half Moon Bay | |

Residents elected me because they trust me to work for them, not the good old boys, who profit from over-development of the Coastside.I was elected to the City Council in 1995 because voters knew I would work for them and was not likely to become one of the good old boys, hell bent on helping good buddies get money, power and glory from overdevelopment. With intelligence, credibility, clarity, professionalism and humor, I have championed the position that if development harms the public welfare, economy, coastal environment, community character or quality of life, we don't have to allow it. I have also delivered the energy, commitment, reform mindedness, independence and irreverence that voters expected of me. I need your support to keep going. With billions of speculative dollars at stake, the land use temple apparently needs continuous cleansing. Having that deep understanding of local government that only incumbency can bring, voters can depend on me to be even more effective in asking the right questions, finding the right answers, enforcing environmental laws, and seeking to not give away the store. Since my campaign will again be a low budget one, I'm counting on you to not be fooled by pale imitations, pandering pundits, wolves in sheeps' clothing, self appointed heroes, or supposedly unaffiliated new faces offering to begin the healing. Think Coleman. Thank you. |
