Matt is originally from the small town of Peninsula, situated in the Cuyahoga River Valley of north east Ohio. After graduating from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, where he attended on full scholarship, Matt enrolled in the College of Architecture at the University of Florida, Gainesville. U of F dropped their wrestling program in '79 and Matt transfered to Clemson University. He graduated in '81 with a Bachelor of Science in Design (Architecture). In 1983, Matt moved to California and in '87 he transfered from the East Bay to San Carlos. Matt was married to Dina Hall, a resident of Ladera, California, in 1993. He and his wife bought their first home in San Carlos in 1995. Since college, Matt has worked for numerous architectural firms, practicing commercial, residential and landscape architecture. He started his own firm in 1993, specializing in residential design, remodels and additions. The business operates locally and is based in San Carlos. Also since college, Matt has maintained his involvement in wrestling. He stayed a competitor in Olympic style wrestling as late as '91, has coached for numerous high schools, and currently is involved as a volunteer with the Stanford program. |
