"Serving on the School Board these past few months has verified that listening to our District community and responding to parent and student concerns is essential."

Over the next four years, Colleen's priorities will include:

-Ensuring our children have safe, modern, well-maintained classrooms and playgrounds and continuing to oversee Bond Measure funded school improvement projects to their successful completion.

-Promoting policies which uphold high educational standards that challenge and enrich our children - such as algebra readiness for eighth grade students.

-Continuing to strive for student performance at or above grade level standards and phasing in foreign language instruction across the grades.

-Devising strategies to recruit and keep quality instructors in our District. "We must continue to enrich our teachers with the instructional tools needed to address both the increasing diversity and individual strengths and weaknesses of our students."

"I am dedicated to education and the people I serve. My extensive involvement in community, school and PTA activities for the past seven years coupled with my commitment to youth advocacy would ensure that the governing of the District occurs with the welfare of children and their education at the forefront."
