Quintin believes actions speak louder than words:

Control Growth & Improve Traffic

Quintin supports metering to tie growth to infrastructure improvements, such as traffic and new schools. As mayor, he is working to reduce the projected size of Brentwood, preserve our farm land and improve East County roads.

He is leading the fight against the unfair ABAG housing mandates to East Contra Costa County and supports "fast tracking" funding to widen Highway 4, build the Buchanan Road Bypass, fix Vasco Road and extend BART to at least Antioch.

Keep Our Communities Safe

Since Quintin's election to the city council in 1994, Brentwood has doubled its police force. He initiated the Youth Commission and other after-school activities, and is forcing the county and developers to increase Brentwood (and East County's) fire protection. During the same time, Brentwood's General Fund Reserve increased from $90,000 to $2.9 million.

As supervisor, Quintin will work to improve police and fire protection throughout all of East County.

Oppose Mello Roos

Quintin strongly opposes the oppressive Mello Roos taxes. As mayor, he successfully fought those who tried to bring Mello Roos taxes to Brentwood. As a member of the County Board of Supervisors, he will maintain his policy of insisting that those responsible for new growth pay their own way by building schools, parks and roads -- not the taxpayers.
