GROWTH IN NORTH FRESNO

I believe that growth in northern Fresno needs to be well planned. All parties involved-neighborhoods, businesses, and city planners-must design a comprehensive General Plan for Fresno and then support it.

CHRIS STANDS UP FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOODS

As your councilman, I successfully prevented construction of a large, subsidized apartment complex that would have ruined an established Fresno residential neighborhood. I have constantly opposed large complexes in support of those with fewer units, which are more neighborhood-friendly.

PROTECTING THE URBAN RESERVE LAND IN WOODWARD PARK

I grew up in Fresno and as a longtime resident I want to protect our community frOM unplanned growth. I am the only major candidate who has consistently questioned development in the Urban Reserve. There is enough land in North Fresno to build homes without developing our Farmland in the urban reserve.

NO HIGH DENSITY APARTMENT BUILDINGS

Fresno police statistics show high-density apartments are one of Fresno's highest crime areas. When we allow them to be built in our neighborhoods, crime will increase. We need apartments, but should limit the number of units per site to protect and keep or neighborhoods safe

BETTER STREETS AND SIDEWALKS FOR ALL TAXPAYERS

I believe their is something fundamentally wrong when neighborhoods that were built 30, 40 and even 50 years ago cannot receive basic services from the City of Fresno. Fresno's neighborhoods have been paying taxes to the city for years and when they ask that a small portion of their tax dollars be spent on their neighborhoods they are treated rudely and with contempt.

The City of Fresno should use our tax dollars to make needed improvements in our neighborhoods instead of using our money to build turkey factories, lakes, tortilla plants, French restaurants and the failed Far West Airlines.
