As your City Councilmember for the past 5 years, I've worked hard to get results that matter for neighborhoods and families. If you read my ballot statement, you'll see what we've accomplished working together. However, there's much more that I want to accomplish for Almaden and Blossom Valley. It's time to get the Highway 87/85 interchange under construction. We've had funding for this project in place for years. Let's hold local transportation agencies accountable and get the interchange built. Our families deserve to have new libraries, community centers, and youth sports fields. The City should let voters decide this year whether or not we should raise the funds to build these needed neighborhood facilities. This month, San Jose's first Community Policing Center will open right here in our neighborhood. We must ensure that effective crime fighting programs are available to all of our residents, including Neighborhood Watch and public information about dangerous sex offenders in the community. I fought against development that would have destroyed open space. Now, we need to finalize agreements that will permanently protect the 280-acre Lester-Cottle Ranch and the 540-acre IBM property and complete local creek trails. With your support, I'll continue to work hard and get results. |
