Tim Anaya is one of the rising stars in the California Republican Party. A leader in Republican volunteer organizations, Tim has been an active participant in Republican politics and campaigns at both the local and state levels. Tim is a candidate for the Ventura County Republican Central Committee, the election for which will be held on March 7, 2000.

Tim graduated from Santa Clara University in June 1998, having received a BS in political science (minor in history). Currently, Tim works as a field representative and campaign aide for Assemblyman Tony Strickland (R-Moorpark), the youngest member of the State Assembly, and Assembly Republican Whip. Previously Tim was a 1998-99 Jesse Marvin Unruh California State Assembly Fellow for Assemblyman Strickland.

Tim is currently serving as President of the California College Republicans Political Action Committee, a post to which he was appointed in April 1999. As President of the CCR PAC, Tim is responsible for coordinating donations to CCR-endorsed candidates, and other CCR campaign activities. He previously served as Executive Vice-Chairman, helping to organize College Republican activities all over California, in addition to planning the newsletter and helping with fundraising. From January 1997 to April 1998, Tim served as Area 10 Director on the CCR Executive Board, responsible for coordinating all College Republican activities in Santa Clara, San Benito, Santa Cruz, and Monterey counties. He has been honored as Club Chairman of the Year in 1998, and Fundraiser of the Year in 1999.

From May 1995 to May 1998, Tim served as chairman of the Santa Clara University College Republicans. While at Santa Clara, Tim served as campus coordinator for all local Republican campaigns and causes, organizing highly-successful signature-gathering drives for Propositions 209 and 227, a Republican voter registration drive which netted over 200 new Republican voters, and precinct walks of the neighborhoods around SCU. Tim also organized numerous forums and events with local and state Republican candidates at SCU. Attorney General Dan Lungren appeared at an SCU rally organized by Tim in February 1998. An October 1997 forum organized by Tim, "An Evening with California's Republican Leaders," brought most of 1998's statewide Republican candidates to campus.

Tim is also a leader in the Young Republican Federation of California. He was appointed Executive Director by Chairman Mark Sheppard in June 1999, responsible for coordinating and overseeing the state board's activities. Prior to his selection as Executive Director, Tim served as National Committeeman, and as Chairman of the South Bay/Santa Clara County Young Republican Federation, the conservative group of choice for 18-40 year old activists, from October 1996 through September 1998. Under Tim's chairmanship, membership dramatically increased, and a club web page and highly-praised club newsletter were established.

In February 1999, Tim was appointed by Assemblyman Strickland to the California Republican Party State Central Committee. Prior to that, he was a CRP Associate Member, serving on the Volunteer Organizations subcommittee.

He is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the international history honors society, and Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honors society.
