The Butler County Clerk of Courts has set the standard in court technology and is continually improving systems to keep pace with the rapidly changing information environment.By implementing innovative solutions to streamline bureaucratic processes, our goals are to reduce paperwork and provide better, more efficient customer service. The Legal Division will complete an upgrade from SQL 6.5 to SQL 7 increasing options, speed and access to information. The last phase of the scanning implementation project targeted for Domestic Relations filings will be implemented by spring 2000. The Common Pleas Court JuryView jury management system was successfully implemented in January 2000. The Court of Common Pleas and the Clerk's office are monitoring the benefits of this important computerization project. The Title Division is in the implemention phase of the second generation of the Automated Title Processing System (ATPSII) in coordination with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. June 2000 is the target deadline to put CourtView on the World Wide Web. Access via the Web will make information quick, easy and inexpensive for any person with access to the internet. Improvements in archival file access will be achieved as scanning of journal entries occurs, thereby improving the existing filing system for the Records Center. The Clerk of Courts office looks forward to setting the pace in county government technology. |
