Protecting Property ValuesBy Dan A. MarosticaCandidate for Council Member; City of Walnut | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My record proves I will do all I can to protect your property values. My record in protecting Walnut property values goes back almost a decade. Seven-years as a Planning Commissioner, twice as Chairman. During that time, I was adamant in making sure new home, additions and other projects were enhancements, not detriments, to the surrounding neighborhood. Some of my more significant specific recommendations included: o An Accupressure Ordinance resulting in the removal of 5 illegal establishments from Walnut and adoption of strict guidelines to prevent future problems. o The covered and landscaped storm drain on Lemon Ave, south of the Von's shopping center. o The initiation of the Housing Rehabilitation program and the First Time Home buyer's program. Recently, as Councilman, I introduced the Walnut Beautification Program whereby volunteers will be used to assist property owners who are financially or physically unable to complete home maintenance tasks, such as painting their house, cleaning their yards, fixing their plumbing, repairing their fence, and so on. I am a Walnut home owner. The last thing I want is for my, or your, property values to be adversely affected. |
