I am running for the Antioch City Council because I care about Anioch and its residents. If elected to the City Council, I will address the following issues that I feel are important to our community: TRANSPORTATION Work to bring BART to Antioch. Work to accelerate the widening of HWY4 through Antioch. Work to bring a LIGHT RAIL system to East County, making Antioch the Anchor. WELL PLANNED AND EXECUTED GROWTH I will make the tough decisions to slow the uncontrolled growth that is occurring. I am the only candidate who supports the Urban Limit Line adjustment, and I believe that the adjustment was needed to help control the growth. Antioch currently has nearly 3,000 acres of undeveloped land that can be used to bring jobs to Antioch, along with necessary housing. I will use Measure U as my guide to ensure that growth occurs only with infrastructure improvements (to include Roads and Highways, Police, and Schools). ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT I will work to develop a plan to bring business to all parts of Antioch, to include the DOWNTOWN area. I will fight to have 500-1000 acres of FUA #1 designated as a large scale business park. PUBLIC SAFETY I will ensure that funding for public safety remains a priority. I will work to bring the ratio of Officers to 1.5 per 1,000 residents (currently 1.23), which will require about an attitional 21 Officers, in order to have a full service Police Department. I will work to bring a Police Sub-Station to the Southeast area of Antioch, allowing quicker police response times. COMMUNITY PRIDE AND INVOLVEMENT As a City Council Member, I will work to set an example for Antioch that all the residents can be proud of, not the circus politics that has occurred in the past. I will work to develop a plan to encourage COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT at all ages, so we can make antioch a place we can all be proud of. |
