As you'll note in position paper #1, I believe government's role is to provide the infrastructure a community requires, starting with the roads, sewer and water. This is seemingly basic, but in Martinez, these items need attention. As we address these issues, not only does the quality of life improve for our residents, but the economic picture brightens as well. I am an economic conservative that believes that if our city budget is not in order, the infrastructure declines, ecomonic scenarios falter, and the downward spiral begins. Thus, the budget, and the infrastructure, conjoin to be the cornerstone of my political philosophy on the municipal level |
