Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Anthony "Tony" Kawashima

Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Tustin

This information is provided by the candidate

The most important role of a city councilman is to look after the interests of its residents and their community. I am committed to protecting our quality of life, property values and the taxpayer's money.

Tustin faces many challenges this election year.

I am opposed and say NO to any land give away on our Helicopter base. We must stand firm against Santa Ana's attempt to bus over 4,000 students into Tustin. Parks that are still empty lots must be built, Old Town needs to become a destination point, the Senior Center and library need to be expanded. We must keep our streets safe by having the best-trained and equipped police force possible.

I will build partnerships with the community, business and government to make it happen.

My wife, two sons and I have resided in Tustin for 11 years. I have owned a successful small business for over 23 years. I served as a Tustin Planning Commissioner and remain an active PTO volunteer at my sons' public school.

I will bring an independent, no-nonsense attitude to Tustin City Hall, always putting the people's best interests first.
