With my years of experience as a Financial Analyst, my tenure on the Anaheim Union High School District School Board, and years of volunteering in La Palma, I bring an understanding of finance, experience in government, and a real sense of the La Palma community. If elected, I will work with the citizens, staff and fellow council members to provide you with the events and services that you desire and ensure that they are cost effective. My experience as a member of the Anaheim Union High School District Board ('87 - '92) and the ROP Board ('88 - '92) has taught me how to stretch your tax dollars. Joan and I have lived in La Palma since 1969. Our three daughters, Elizabeth, Malinda and Amy, all attended Luther Elementry, Walker Jr. High and John F. Kennedy High Schools. We are active in our church, community and school and were honored to be the La Palma Family of the Year for 1999. I am currently serving on the Traffic Safety Committee, the La Palma Days Coordinating Committee, as a Director of the Kennedy Scholarship Foundation, as a Director of the Pacific Resourse Credit Union and am the Kiwanis Kennedy Key Club Advisor. In the past I have been President of the Shamrock Regiment Booster Club; a member of the Walker and John F. Kennedy School Site Council; a volunteer for the Steve Luther PTA/PTO and the Walker and Kennedy PTSA; an announcer for the La Palma Days Band Review; our family manned a water station at the La Palma 5K-10K Run for over 10 years; and I attended the La Palma Citizen's Police Academy. I received the Honorary Service Award from the John F. Kennedy PTSA. If elected I will work to keep La Palma a safe and secure community that puts its citizens first. |
