Community leaders of Orange County know Helen Wilson for her energetic involvement in community and political activities. She began her local involvement 16 years ago and has provided leadership to several organizations promoting education, sports, church, patriotic and philanthropic endeavors. On March 5, 1991, whe was elected to the Inaugural Lake Forest City Council and served as the City's first Mayor. Helen's background includes experience in both the public and private sectors. She formerly worked for the City of Long Beach in the City Manager's office as well as for the Tidelands Agency. Her experience and resources developed within the public sector, coupled with her marketing and public relations experience gained through her tenure with a major toy manufacturer, was of tremendous assistance in achieving her goals for the community. Presently, she is an acccount executive with ABM, Inc., a leading distributor of KONICA office products and document handling systems. She was the former Executive Director for the Orange County Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation & Race For The Cure. As the current Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Lake Forest, she represents the City's interest as: Board Member for the TCA Foothill/Eastern Corridors and Board Member for the Orange County Fire Authority. In addition to her professional and civic responsibilities, her community service and memberships also include Lake Forest Rotary, Get Involved For Mental Health, CAMI, Saddleback Area Historical Society, Saddleback Community Church, and El Toro High School Women's Volleyball Boosters. Helen and her husband Richard, own and operate Active Care Chiropractic in Lake Forest, and reside with their two teenage and young adult children, Kimberly and Jeff. |
