TEACHERS do NOT have to pay Social Security. State & Federal Employees do NOT have to pay Soc. Security. They have something FAR BETTER.Many decades ago, the State and Federal employees and the Teachers across this Great Nation lobbied and got OUT of Social Security. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST KEPT SECRETS. W H Y ? Ask yourself this question. If you trusted Congress and they robbed you every year and promised to pay back the "next" year but never did. CAN YOU TRUST the robber to "fix" the social security system, that they broke ? Of course not. Teachers Union and the State & Federal employees, Congress and Federal judges all knew this decades ago. They set up separate PRIVATELY funded retirement system, which congress CAN NOT STEAL, because it those FUNDs in TRUST are NOT considered taxes. Social Security has been ruled by Court to be just another "tax", therefore Congress can rob it at will, and frequently does. William WAGENER Proposes: every resident should have the same KIND of PRIVATE retirement FUND, the Government employees have set up for themselves and the TEACHERS have too. Are you any less worthy than a public teacher. All that is needed is a "defineable group", and certainly the boundaries of Santa Maria are very defineable, just as teachers are defineable. WHAT about Seniors already ON Social Security. I propose they could opt to continue on it, like the rest of the nation, or take a LUMP sum and invest it in a 401K type or other responsible PRIVATE FUND. Any citizen living or working in Santa Maria would be in the group. Actuary tables show that this kind of PRIVATE FUND, where the money is ACTUALLY THERE or invested for YOU, with your own name on the account will return 2 to 3 times more money over 30 years, than Social Security, A N D best of all, if you die, you can let your heirs inherit your PRIVATE Retirement FUND. We just need to lobby Congress for it. Who can be against a better and more secure retirement?
Also, this option, will make Santa Maria a very good
