COMMUNITY DECISIONS ARE BEST Government must be conducted in an inclusive manner by our elected leaders. The best policy decisions are made when diverse opinions and the participation of the community are valued as an important part of board trustees deliberations. I will help bring these values to the board of trustees.

LEADERS MUST BE ACCESSIBLE As Mayor, I held open office hours where anyone could share their issues with me without an appointment. I will hold regular, open office hours as a trustee to hear the issues of the citizens which the school district serves.

ADMINISTRATORS AND BUREAUCRATS MUST ANSWER TO OUR LEADERS Government administrators have virtually unlimited access to elected leaders. They often know they will remain in positions of power long after any elected official they serve, moves off their governing board. This means electeds must constantly work to see the big picture. They must be able to see beyond the tidal wave of sometimes slanted information administrators and bureaucrats provide in support of their positions on public policy.
