Manchester Hotel project.By Michael T. "Mike" LucasCandidate for City Council; City of Oceanside | |

Against Public Funding for private developers.I am not against business coming into this city and building something of value. However, I could not in good conscience give away public beach land to a private developer to add to his personal wealth at public expense. I cannot go along with subsidizing that project with 15 million in public tax dollars or waving business taxes. Most of the Citizens in Oceanside will not benefit from this project. Property speculation based on this project has already driven lower-income people out of the area by high rents. Enough damage has been done. |
