We have done our share of it. Quantity has replaced quality.

Oceanside has become a bedroom community. Houses do not provide the taxes and income we need for infrastructure. the houses that are being built now might sell for 200,000 dollars and look nice. But they are not of high quality. I can recount many horror stories about these houses. As councilman I will put a stop to housing development. After the 5,000 units that are planned for the city has been built I will demand a stop to the building of any new homes.

Some might ask about affordable housing. We have done our share, it is time for our snobby neighbors to the South to pick up the slack. Isn't it time for Solana Beach, Del Mar, Encinitas, La Costa, La Jolla to start building low-income housing?

As councilman I will make sure the low-income housing units that we have now clean up their act. Remember when Greenbrier Drive was a nice community? Well look at it now! It's the slums! And that can be said for most of the housing developments around Oceanside. As councilman I will hold the tenants and the landlords accountable for cleaning up their houses.

I will also push for a maximum occupancy ordinance that will prohibit more than one family living in a house/apartment. On my street we have several families living in a one bedroom apartment. This is a fire and safety hazard. I propose that one family live in each house/apartment.
