Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Stockton Unified School District; Trustee Area 3

I am a second generation Stocktonian and I am of Mexican heritage. I attended SUSD schools and graduated from Edison High School. I attended San Joaquin Delta College for two years. I began working for the City of Stockton in 1972 in the Finance Department. I have three grown children and two grandchildren.

Activies include - Democratic Central Committee, Hispanics for Political Action, Stockton Parks & Recreation Commission, Mid-Management & Supervisory Level Employees Group, City of Stockton, graduate of Leadership Stockton, mentor for Tierra Del Oro Girl Scout Council and I was a member of the Coalition Against Measure U.

I am currently serving my second term as Trustee in Area 3, and I have been Board President in 1996 and 2000. I have earned the respect of my fellow board members and I believe that I have been able to play an important role in many of the difficult decisions the board has made throughout these eight years.

I have seen positive but challenging changes in SUSD over the past three years and I would like to continue to be a part of the decision-making process for this District.
