I will encourage citizen input into the planning process for major capital expenditures of our city. The public must be part of the planning process in order to tell Council and staff what their priorities are. Citizen Advisory Councils are a key element of this public input. Advisory Councils are an important bridge between the public and the City Council. I will put strong emphasis on the process and the recommendations of the City's Advisory Councils.

Council and staff are responsible for carrying out the wishes of the people. Staff, in particular, must be held accountable for executing the plans approved by the public and the City Council.

What are the first things I will do if you elect me?
1. Require city staff to prepare a plan for repaving city streets. Compel staff management to take disciplinary action if goals are not met.
2. Analyze city salary structures in comparison to comparable California cities and make sure that our city is line with them.
3. Compare the cost of continuing to rent space for city employees vs. constructing a new government center, then hold public hearings on the issue.
4. Request Advisory Committee to prioritize bikeway projects in a timely and fiscally responsible manner. Ask the Advisory Committee to oversee project delivery and report to City Council.

Why are Measures P and Q on the ballot?

Because elected city officials made a deal with Duke Energy without listening to the input from Morro Bay Citizens.

We need to open up City Government.

The most important issues for Morro Bay Citizens are:
1. Preserve scenic resources
2. Maintain our small-town atmosphere
