Information shown below:

Shall a levy renewing $686,000 and providing an increase of $1,600,000 be imposed by the Norwood City School District, County of Hamilton, Ohio, for the purpose of providing for the emergency Requirements of the School District, in the sum of $2,468,00 per year and a levy of taxes to be made outside of the ten-mill limitation estimated by the county auditor to average seven and sixty-eighth hundredths (7.68) mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to seventy-six and eight-tenths cents ($0.768) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of five (5) years, commencing in 20000, first due in calendar year 2001.

Official Information

Norwood City School Tax Levy - Renewal and increase 7.68 mill, 5 year Emergency Requirements. This levy would finance lower class sizes, keep neighborhood schools, maintain local control and continue academic improvement. This is the first time in five years the voters have been asked for more money for the schools. The Board of Education has shown fiscal responsibility in its $1.5 million cost reduction made in the last two years. There has been a 5% overall increase in proficiency test scores since '99 testing and a 20% increase in the graduation rate since 1998. Funding is needed to continue this progress.
