Pasadena combines the strength of diversity in an urban city with the community of our small town neighborhoods. Our neighborhood associations are the glue that keeps us together, looking out for each other and accomplishing together what we could never do alone. As someone who has served as a neighborhood president, I know this first hand.
- Property Maintenance: As a Pasadena Code Enforcement Commissioner, I have sought to find balance, supporting enjoyment of our homes while lending a hand to those who need assistance to keep their homes safe and livable. We need to have zero tolerance for problems that create health and safety risks.
- Traffic Calming: As a Civil Engineer, I think it is time to look for new solutions to traffic in our neighborhoods. In many cases, traffic calming approaches, such as modern roundabouts, can be safer than traditional stop signs and speed bumps. We need to continue and strengthen our City's commitment to public transportation, including buses and the Blue Line.
- Neighborhood-friendly Development: I have been leading the effort for my neighborhood to become a landmark district, so that we can maintain its character and history. In the same way, the input of our neighborhoods should be respected in development of commercial zones that often are literally in our backyards.
