Los Angeles County, CA | April 3, 2001 Election |
Choosing a candidateBy F. Paul Russell, Jr.Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Inglewood; Seat 2 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The voter's choicesVoters are carefully reading all the material sent out by the candidates and looking for facts instead of fluff. Four colors in an expensive brochure can outnumber the good ideas it may contain. Election signs posted without the permission of property owners are no substitute for the proven qualifications that a candidate must have. The experience that candidates offer may be all civil service, work performed with tax dollars. There are those other candidates whose experience is in the private sector involving real life problems solved by private enterprise. A Council member with private business experience will help Inglewood progress but at a reasonable cost to the residents and taxpayers. One candidate challenging the incumbent has taken the time and effort to regularly and consistently attend and participate in the City Council Meetings. He has engaged in one on one discussions with members of City Staff, and taken an active part in meetings of City Planning and Aviation Commissions. One candidate puts the needs of the residents first and can effectively meet those needs through teamwork within the bounds of law, good financial judgement, and clear moral principles. The informed voter will make a good choice on April 3. |
