The secret of education is respecting the pupil" - Emerson.

We need to support the creativity of our children, and help them learn, play and develop relationships in the community. Together we can empower our kids to develop and pursue their ideas, interests and talents. Interaction and engagement foster interdependence and are key to connect our children to our community. By teaching compassion and empathy we make our schools and community stronger and safer.

We need a school bureaucracy that does not automatically say NO, when asked whether something new is possible. Our schools are known for outstanding academic achievement, but we are capable of so much more. Our schools have taken little advantage of technology. We need a district that says YES to new ideas and change.

My Palos Verdes education and my entrepreneurial work in both for-profit and not-for-profit arenas in America and eleven years in Japan have taught me how to organize local talent and implement change. Let's use pro-bono legal services wherever possible and your talent to fill the role of arbitrators for conflict resolution.
