Don't you agree that our schools deserve guidance and direction of qualified leaders on the governing board? People who will listen! Like my constituents, I have "been there".
Do we share the same concerns?
- The safety and security of our students and employees?
- Too many excellent, qualified teachers leaving our schools?
- The cleanliness and safety of our schools and facilities?
- The quality of food served on our campuses?
- The overcrowding of our campuses and classrooms?
- Have you been treated with respect and dignity when you approach the board or the district office with a problem?
- Do you think the Board ought to hear from parents and teachers before they make important decisions?
- Are you tired of the "us against them" attitude of the Board towards our teachers, children and parents?
- Are you concerned about the weight of the backpacks our children are forced to carry around and the physical problems this can cause because we don't have lockers for them to use?
- Are you tired of hearing about all the lawsuits against B.U.S.D. because of teacher reassignments, classified and administrative firings and dismissals?
- What would cause the father of an honor student to become so frustrated with the system that he had to be escorted off school property?
I have lived in Bellflower for 45 years. My father started his practice here in 1954. After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic I began working in the office with my father and purchased it in 1979. I remember the "old times" and I look forward to the future. A strong school system is the foundation of the community and the school board is there to guide it. Ask your children what their school needs and why. Ask your teachers who they support and why. Then ask yourself, do I want even one more term of the status quo?
