Candidate for
Commissioner; Saratoga Fire Protection District

My educational background includes a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. My family has resided in Saratoga for the past 38 years and all of our children have been educated in Saratoga schools. I have served with the Saratoga Fire District for 22 of those years as Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief and now as Commissioner. I retired from IBM after 30 years of service in the San Jose area and received an Outstanding Invention award during that time. For 6 years following my IBM career I was a faculty member at San Jose State University teaching in the schools of technology and industrial engineering. I received the IIE Outstanding Faculty Achievement Award from the student chapter. I have also served with the Boy Scouts of America in local troops and as Pioneer District Chairman, receiving a District Award of Merit. I am also a past president of the Saratoga Amateur Radio Association and am currently Secretary/Treasurer of our local Madronia Cemetery District.
