Redevelopment of Montgomery RoadBy Maryann F. (Fermann) BurwinkelCandidate for Council Member; City of Norwood | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Developing Montgomery Road is a challenging procedure. First I believe a committee of interested people must be formed. People from the Norwood Historical Society; people from city administration; council people (both parties represented); interested citizens. Seek professional advice from historical preservation professionals. Well balanced group so that no interest or political party or group can have a majority. Ths committee must formulate a master plan for the length of Main Street (Montgomery Rd). Then this Master Plan must be submitted to the Building Department, the Planning & Zoning boards, and be presented to the Community development person, and the Planning director. Next - both the community development person and the planning director must begin aggressively seeking developers and funds to implement this plan. We must develop our "Front Door". We must aggressively pursue development of Montgomery Road.We continue to seek developers and fine developments for other areas of Norwood and ignore our core area - the area that is our front door. |
