Clifft Rotherum Chair of Finance Committee

Clifft and his wife Kathryn live at 809 Carini Lane and have been residents of Greenhills for 43 years. Their son, Clifft, Jr., and daughter, Anne, graduated from Greenhills High School. In addition, their two grandsons, Tim and Andrew Holzmacher, were born while their parents lived on Damon Road.

Clifft graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1950 and immediately joined IBM in Little Rock. Upon his retirement from IBM he spent 9 years as the Hamilton County Records Officer. He entered the regular U.S. Navy for two years and upon discharge joined the Naval Reserve, then the Arkansas National Guard, and served during the Korean Conflict and active Army Reserve unit for a total of 8+ years of service. Prior to being elected to public office in Greenhills he served 6 years on the Planning Commission, 3 years on the Board of Zoning Appeals, and 4 years on the Recreation Commission. He served one 4-year term as Clerk/Treasurer of Greenhills and has been a member of Greenhills Council ever since. He has chaired the Community Development and Finance Committees and served on the Services and Streets, and Laws and Rules Committees. He has served both as Vice-President Pro Tem and President Pro Tem of Council.

Clifft has served as President of the Greenhills Republican Club and is a member of the American Legion Post #530 and the Little Rock Trinity Lodge #94 F.&A.M. Also, he has served the University of Arkansas as a Director of the Arkansas Alumni Association and was made a Kentucky Colonel in the 1970's. Other interests have found him as coach and manager of knothole baseball teams, and a committeeman of Boy Scout Troop #433, member of the National Rifle Association, and served as President of the Cincinnati Revolver Club. He and Kathryn are members of the Forest Chapel United Methodist Church. While attending the University of Arkansas he was a member and officer of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Clifft is a member of a Greyhound Rescue organization. You may have seen him walking his two Greyhounds, Lonfella and Zinger.
