I believe I am the "best-qualified, most-experienced" candidate for the Office of Treasurer-Tax Collector-Public Administrator.
- I have 22 years experience in Public Finance.
- I have served as the Santa Barbara County Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector-Public Administrator for the past 6½ years in which capacity I directly supervise every management employee in the office helping assure that we work together to provide critical public service in an efficient and caring manner.
- I am knowledgeable from "hands-on experience" as to the day-to-day operation of each section of the office, including Treasury, Tax Collection, Veteran's Services, the Public Guardian-Administrator, Debt Collection, Investments and the Retirement division.
- In the 6 years that I have been Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector-Public Administrator the following has been accomplished:
- The County's Credit Rating has improved to AA-!
- The County has been one of the few counties in California able to cover all retirement obligations without the issuance of long-term debt!
- Retirement system assets grew from $600 million to more than $1.2 billion!
- Unpaid property taxes in the County have dropped to among the lowest in the state!
- The Public Guardian function has instituted new programs to combat elder abuse!
- We have automated deposit of funds to increase county income on such deposits thereby increasing County revenue!
- Veteran's services have been expanded to more than 38,000 veterans and their family members in the County!
Thus it is not without reason that I am the candidate endorsed by both the current Treasurer-Tax Collector-Public Administrator Gary Feramisco and his predecessor, Glen Neikirk.
I believe I have earned your vote on March 5 and look forward to serving the citizens of this County.
