Republican Party County Central Committee; County of San Francisco; Assembly District 13

Growing up in caucus country, Iowa, my political philosophy is rooted in the belief that effective political action is local. The core of local Republican politics in San Francisco is the Central Committee. For the past three years in San Francisco, I have seen little if any activity from the Central Committee. It has truly astounded me, coming from Boston I felt that the situation for the Republican voice in politics couldn't get worse, but it is non-existent in the Bay Area. I believe in the power of the individual to make decisions and be responsible for those decisions. This flows into public policy through programs that create competition, allow individual choice, and give people the ability to change their local environment.

The San Francisco Republican Party needs to build a broader base of people to draw from in order to achieve credibility on the political landscape. Achieving a credible voice in the political process is my key priority over the next two years.

- Increasing GOP voter registration in time for 2004 Mayor race and the Bush re-election campaign;

- Developing solutions to the problems facing San Franciscans, including homelessness, lack of homeownership opportunities, and educational reform; and

- Recruit, train, and support a new team of Republican candidates for elected office in San Francisco.
