- I've been a Castro Valley homeowner since 1981. My wife, Niki Boon, has worked as a CV school teacher for the past 13 years and my children, Kristen & Jesse, have been born and raised here and have graduated from our schools.
- I received undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Golden Gate University.
- I'm a registered professional engineer in California and am currently a project development manager for a major Bay Area company. I have recently engaged in development work in Sacramento, San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Kansas City, Missouri.
- I have 30 years experience in design, engineering, project development, and project management. Fields include critical energy, data centers, biotech utility facilities, power generation systems, aerospace facilities, and other industrial facilities. Professional experience includes work at Calpine, Bechtel, International Power Technology and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
- I've coached soccer for 10 years with the CV Youth Soccer League and other local youth sports (CYO basketball and CV Little League), and was a member of the Soccer League Board of Directors and competitive coach selection committee.
- I've been a member of the California Society of Professional Engineers for 16 years, serving as President of the Local Chapter, state director, and chairperson for programs and legislation.
