I was born in Reedley and raised on a farm in east Reedley. I graduated from Reedley High School and Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo with a degree in engineering. My past professional experience includes 8 years in public service for the federal government where I was the Area Engineer responsible for a service region from Sacramento to El Centro. My current professional experience includes 8 years as a managing Senior Engineer for a local consulting firm. As a licensed civil and agricultural engineer, I would bring a unique combination of problem solving skills and vision to the Council. In addition to working as a professional engineer, I have operated my family's Reedley tree fruit farm from 1987 to 2001. Working the farm on most weekends and lots of evenings, I know the value of hard work. I know what it means to "make payroll", to be a good employer, drive a tractor till midnight and to be self motivated no matter how difficult the circumstances. Beginning in 2002 the farm has been leased out to another family member's farming operation. Although I am still responsible for the business aspects of the farm, I am no longer the guy on the tractor. If elected, the same energy, dedication and passion that motivated me in farming would be transfered to Reedley City Council. My children are fourth generation Reedley citizens and my family has great pride in Reedley. |
