A Letter to My NeighborsBy John GenterCandidate for Board Member; Norris School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Dear Neighbor, As a businessman in the communications industry, I understand how fast the world in which our children are living in is changing. I see first hand, on a daily basis, the demands placed on businesses and employers to increase the skills and knowledge of their employees. As a parent, I share with many of you the desire to ensure that our children have the skills and education they need to succeed. Eight years ago, I was elected to the board with these same beliefs. Since that time, we have opened new libraries on every campus, built new science and art rooms, installed a state of the art technology network, reduced class sizes, modernized Norris Elementary, and opened a new school, William Bimat Elementary. I played an integral role in all these projects. As a trustee, I have promoted focus on our students, high standards, well-trained staff, and good fiscal management. I have served on many boards in my life. I have found that serving as a trustee has given me the opportunity to effect children's lives today and for many years in the future. It is the most rewarding job I have ever had. I believe I have served our children and community well and would appreciate your vote on November 5. May I count on your vote? Sincerely, John Genter |
