My aviation experience includes a total of more than 33 years as an operational military pilot, including a combat tour in Vietnam and a recent (1998-99) NATO aviation tour in Bosnia. I served 27 years as a pilot in the California National Guard, including extensive experience flying MEDEVAC, search and rescue operations, and fighting forest fires (dropping water) in the state and local area.

In addition to this, I've been active in the local aviation community, serving several years on the Board of Directors and as President of the China Lake Navy Flying Club and maintain numerous long-term relationships in the regional aviation community.

Professionally, I've spent more than ten years as an aircraft engineer and Flight Test Engineer at China Lake and was the lead electronics engineer representing the Navy during the Inyokern Airport-based QF-86 conversion project.

As an author in aviation safety, my work has been nationally published by the U. S. military and the Canadian Military Forces.

My additional background includes extensive experience as a commercial writer, journalist, professional photographer, and a national and international broadcaster. I'm an active member of the China Lake Rotary Club.
