Tuesday, November 5 will be your opportunity to re-elect a champion of superior public education to the Fruitvale School Board. Do your part to continue the 105 year of the tradition of excellence in the Fruitvale School District. Re-elect Richard Traynor to set policies and maintain accountability so our children can realize their dreams. Richard and his wife Debbie have been residents of the district for 23 years. Strongly committed to the importance of quality public education, their children attended Fruitvale schools while Richard has been on the school board. They are active in their church and serve in children's, youth and the Scouting program leadership. As a manager of a company with over 150 employees, Richard knows about developing and maintaining budgets and customer satisfaction, providing a decent place for employees to work, and planning for the future. While on the Fruitvale Board, Richard Traynor has supported policies that prepare students for high school, college and university, and future careers. Specifically, Richard has participated in the following: · Continual, careful monitoring of curriculum development, long range master planning of facilities, and fiscal responsibility · Cultivating a professional atmosphere that attracts the best teachers · Construction of three new elementary schools: Columbia, Endeavor, and Discovery and our Educational Services Facility · Selection of Fruitvale schools as a California Distinguished School 14 times · Three time naming of a Fruitvale school as a National Blue Ribbon School · Carefully planning for our districts rapid growth from 500 students to over 3,000 students · Pioneering and implementing Fruitvale's successful technology program, preparing young citizens for the future. · Overseeing test scores that are among the best in the county, scores which demonstrate the accountability that the public demands and deserves
