Jim obtained a degree in Engineering from Porterville College, possesses a license as a General Engineering Contractor, and is employed by the City of Hollister. He is now serving as Utility Manager, overseeing the operations and conducting the facilities planning for the municipal water and sewer systems. Mr. Perrine has served as an elected official in the City of Marina since 1988 when he was appointed to the Marina Water Board. During the years of 1989 and 1990 the Water Board elected Jim to be the Board President. In November of 1990 he was elected to the Marina City Council. He served eight years as a Council Member, and was chosen to be the Mayor Pro Tem during four of those years. Mr. Perrine maintains an active involvement both in his profession and the community of Marina. He is a 1999 graduate of the League of California Cities Leadership Academy.
