Personal History:
My commitment to health care also stems from my
experience as a patient and a caregiver. As a patient, I
was one of the first successful donor related kidney
transplants at UCSF in 1966. As a caregiver, I cared for
and managed the care of my severely disabled parents for 11
years, one partially paralyzed by stroke and the other
impaired by Alzheimer's disease.
