Political Philosophy for Richard Thomas "Rich" Dixon
Candidate for |

|
Lake Forest is one of Orange County's most fiscally sound cities, with the nation's 9th-lowest crime rate and numerous community projects underway. I have worked to build the new library in Foothill Ranch, the long-awaited Concourse Park in Portola Hills, improvements to the El Toro library, and to undertake the "Arbor on El Toro" project to solve traffic congestion and revitalize El Toro Road. Most important has been our successful effort to stop the unsafe and unneeded airport, and I will continue to lead the fight. I have strived to protect and improve our quality of life by working for the "Great Park" at El Toro, increasing the number of deputy sheriffs on the streets, increasing senior citizen programs, expanding library and park facilities and a new skateboard park to open soon. I support undertaking land-use studies on the 1,000 acres under the former El Toro flight path for development to meet our future housing, employment, recreational and open-space needs and to relieve school over-crowding. Solving traffic congestion along El Toro Road and completion of the Alton Parkway extension are major priorities. I look forward to continuing to serve and improve our city and would appreciate your support. |
