Candidate StatementBy Beth KromCandidate for Council Member; City of Irvine | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
When I was elected to the City Council, I promised to work side-by-side with the Mayor, my Council colleagues, and residents to protect and preserve Irvineís quality of life. During my two years of service, Iíve kept my promise. For example: I helped draft the strategy that put Measure W on the ballot to defeat El Toro Airport once and for all. I provided leadership to win federal approval of Irvineís plan to annex El Toro and develop the Great Park. I advocated for ample funding for our police department to guarantee that Irvine remains one of Americaís safest cities. I supported road and infrastructure improvements, preserved community programs for seniors and youth, and enhanced City support for Irvine schoolsóall within the fiscal constraints of a balanced budget. With the El Toro Airport plan defeated, I will work diligently with my City Council colleagues to develop the Great Parkóat no cost to Irvine taxpayers. Our community has demonstrated time and again that with leadership, vision and cooperation, we can achieve anything. It is a privilege to serve as your City Councilmember. I will always make serving the community interest my highest priority. I appreciate your support. |
