My mission is to refocus the energy of the board onto the needs of children.
For the past ten years the Folsom-Cordova Unified School District Board of Education has been immersed in an effort to dissolve the school district and to form two seperate school districts. This effort has consumed the energy and time of the the Board of Education and has taken their focus off of the needs of the children and onto political motives. If their effort were to succeed, the two new districts would each be saddled with a debt load of $1.2 million, mainly for the duplication of services that already exist. This $1.2 million would have to come out of employee compensation or from the classrooms of the district, which would put the burden on the children. The net effect would be the reduction of services and the increase of class sizes. I oppose this effort, and would like to return the board to one of a policy maker for educational matters.
