The Issues I Stand By

The issues facing our community deserve attention. I do not chouse my positions lightly; every one is thought out and researched. When I'm not in the majority I will work all the harder to persuade, but always to represent what is best for Lompoc.

Cuthbert Supports...

  • Increased Community Involvement

Strong local government depends on public opinion being heard. City Council meetings are a public forum to assist in the decision making process, not a "dead end" for public concerns.

  • Moderate Growth

Lompoc is a diverse community. Appropriate and well planned growth must be pursued, growth that addresses the concerns of homeowners, renters, and small business.

  • The Local Police And Fire Departments

Public safety is a high priority of local government. Strong law enforcement enhances the community by providing a safer environment for our families. We need more officers, investigators, and the technical tools used by the larger departments.

Public safety is the highest priority of local government. The City Council has a responsibility to clearly define and advance standards of professionalism. And, at the same time, give just compensation for a job well done. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year, the Police and Firefighters protect us.

  • Local Businesses

The character of every community is defined by the strength and diversity of its economy. Consumers deserve the big chain stores, but the community needs the local business to provide the unique services large chains can not give us.

  • Working Families

Endorsements from the Tri-Counties Central Labor Council, the United Food and Commercial workers, and the Building And Construction Trades Council, demonstrate his commitment to working families. Organized Workers contribute to the economy with higher wages and raise standards for all working people.
