This information is provided by the candidate |
My role as Vice-Chair of the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) has required negotiations with Federal and State agencies while balancing Campbell's transportation needs with those of the Bay Area Counties. Serving as Vice-Chair of the VTA Board of Directors, I have been able to address the West Valley's transportation issues through: 1 Obtaining state funding for Light rail stations in Campbell; 2 Negotiating extension and funding of 26M for Light rail to Winchester;. 3 Protecting higher traffic flow volumes on Hamilton at the future Light rail station; 4 Supporting VTA's programs for Zero Emission Bus Program, low-floor train and buses, with easy access for all; and 5 Strengthening Campbell's negotiating position for the widening of Highway 17 to remove bottlenecks. As Campbell's representative, I have been selected by the City Mayors and Managers of the West Valley Cities to be Chair of VTA 2003, should I be re-elected to office. |
