Education and Qualifications: I am Mayor John Fannon of The Town of Hillsborough. I joined the City Council four years ago. My initial assignment was Building Commissioner. We developed programs for improving our water and sewer services and implemented stricter standards for housing construction.

During my tenure as Mayor, we developed a five-year budget and successfully completed the Housing Element Plan that is required by the state. We upgraded the quality of our staff and improved our services to the community. We appointed a new Police Chief and Finance Director and updated all of our Town's ordinances.

I am the former President and Chief Operations Officer of a major paper manufacturing company, and serve on several Boards of Directors. My family moved to Hillsborough in 1973, and all seven of our children were educated in the Hillsborough schools. My wife was extremely active with the schools and with the foundation. In 1989 she was named Citizen of the Year.

I look foward to continuing to serve our unique community, and seeing our current projects through to completion.
