Keeping Public Safety our Top Priority

Stand behind our basic protective service fire and police agencies including those proven proactive programs such as CORE and Neighborhood watch. Initiate search of all potential sources of grants and other funding mechanisms to ensure there will be no drop in our public safety commitments.

Investing in Municipal Infrastructure

¦ Rigorously pursue solutions to the identified replacement needs for storm drains, sewers and street repairs. AND not allow such lack of attention of proactive maintenance and replacement programs again.

¦ Require Council attention to major Construction-in-process programs, and major repair work that have been removed or deferred in the current budget.

Preserving Open Space & Our Environment

¦ Aggressively support and aid in securing funding of open space land acquisition and provide active understanding and completion of the Natural Communities Conservation Plan.

¦ Work to develop a master plan in the management of undeveloped land for open space and community use.

¦ Continue to stand behind the City required conditions while working in concert towards a community acceptable development of Ocean Trails and Long Point.

¦ Initiate a cohesive environmental strategy that includes proactive steps to educate and inform residents and visitors on the care and use of the coastline.

Protecting RPV Taxpayers

¦ Given the State budget crises, extend the amount of City Council time devoted to the annual budget and develop a more proactive approach to anticipate budget problems. Improve the collective awareness and improve the overall understanding of the annual financial reports.

¦ Expand search for all possible revenue sources in order to fund infrastructure programs, in coordination with compliance with newly mandated increases in water run-off requirements. Coastal communities require innovative plans.

¦ Building on the Finance Advisory Committee report analyze the many alternatives and take action for funding of the infrastructure replacement program.

Maintaining our High Quality of Life

¦ Foster fast and practical solutions for local neighborhood traffic problems including early sheriff department advice.

¦ In light of budget constraints seek other methods to provide support to developing senior issues.

¦ Protect our neighborhoods from high density development.
