I am 47 years old, and I am married with two children who attend Neil Cummins Elementary School. I have lived in larkspur for 15 years and in the Twin Cities area for over 21 years. In this next term, our City Council will be making critical decisions on several issues that will have a lasting impact on all of us. With two open seats on our City Council, I believe my experiences in business, public service and my contribution to the community can provide the continuity and leadership to deal with these issues. As a management consultant for financial services firms, I am involved in strategic planning, finance, and technology. I have had the experience of managing 110 employees and a $23 million budget. I understand the enormous responsibility of living with a budget and meeting the needs of a constituency. My public service includes being on Larkspur's 2050 Planning and Finance Committee, I am one of our City's representatives on a community advisory committee of the Marin Congestion Management Agency, I am the President of the Baltimore Park Homeowners Association, and I have served on an ad-hoc City committee in dealing with traffic and neighborhood safety issues. My community service includes devoting time working with our youth as President of the Marin Council of the Boy Scouts and I coach little league. I am a past board member with the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools and the Twin Cities Cooperative Preschool. We are in challenging and uncertain times. Rest assured that I am committed to protecting the small town character of Larkspur while looking for opportunities for economic growth to sustain our future. I believe both can be achieved without harm to one another. My commitment is to take whatever time it demands to be a proactive, hard working representative for you on the City Council. |
