By L. B. "Kyle" Keilman, III

Candidate for Mayor; City of San Rafael

This information is provided by the candidate
These are a few of the issues as I see them. For more information, please call 415-259-7657
NO to over-development: Protect the character of our neighborhoods; we don't need additional traffic on our crowded roads.

NO to cuts in Police and Fire Dept. service: Our Red and Blue are stretched thin enough!

NO to the San Rafael Rock Quarry: Let's phase it out in the next five years.

NO to second story additions in Eichler and Alliance neighborhoods in Terra Linda.

NO to the so-called 'SMART train': Residents sales taxes are high enough, and busses are more flexible.

NO to the proposed desalinization plant: Drinking water out of the bay? Possibly unsafe and definitely expensive.

YES to support for air quality and environmental testing: We need to discover why our cancer rates are so high.

YES to solar and wind energy for city power needs: Save money and spare the environment by making San Rafael a model city for renewable energy.

YES to low-income housing: Not a few units tacked on to big-market-rate developments, but a dedicated effort in areas close to mass transit.

YES to new local transit: Big diesel busses need to make way for "green" shuttle craft.

YES to a temporary big business and/or millionaire city tax: Let those with the means help out during our budget crisis.

YES to bringing the film industry to San Rafael: We need to replace departing George Lucas with new facilities. A union stage worker, Kyle will push for new jobs!
