David Casas and his wife Carol have been enjoying the Los Altos Community for over 19 years. David and Carol met while in college and have enjoyed many years of Los Altos traditions such as the Pet Parade, Festival Lights Parade, Art in the Park and the Los Altos Art and Wine Festival. As parents of two school-aged children, Scott 10 and Paige 7, David and Carol feel fortunate that they can continue participating in these wonderful traditions year after year. In addition to enjoying annual Los Altos events, David and his family are involved in Los Altos Little League, where David has coached for the last 2 years, AYSO Soccer, Los Altos Recreation Summer Camps, and local Girl Scouting activities. Currently, both children attend Covington Elementary School within the Los Altos School District. After receiving his BS in Business Finance, David began his career working in high tech companies. However, 5 years ago he acted on his passion for making a difference in peoples lives and joined the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, working at LifeScan. For more than two decades, LifeScan has been committed to improving the quality of life for people with diabetes. It was important for David to work for a company whose mission included being responsible to the communities, in which the employees lived and worked, and also encouraged the support of good works and charities. At LifeScan, David currently manages a Finance team specializing in long range planning and tactical execution. In 2001, David received his Masters Degree in Technology Management from Pepperdine University. While obtaining his degree, David was already on the Los Altos School Board and the Los Altos Arts, Parks and Recreation Commission. His determination to make a difference in the Los Altos Community has taken many forms, many of which have helped to foster a sense of pride within the Los Altos Community. David is a strong leader, fiscally responsible, and takes a realistic and positive approach to issues facing our town. |
